A disaster: the workers left my apartment in a deplorable state, and I'm not just talking about the finishing touches: wood filler was used instead of a perfectly good parquet slat, deep machine marks were left on the floor, my bathroom and kitchen tiles were broken by the worker who installed the roller shutters, and the incompetent painter left drips of paint and piles of silicone everywhere. The boss had told his workers to paint quickly: the handles weren't removed, the removable nails holding the shelves were cemented in place by the paint, and the silver locks were covered with thick paint. The boss, not entirely dishonest, agreed to refund the cost of the parquet flooring; I would have preferred it not to be beyond repair. He sent the workers back to do the painting, but they couldn't fix everything, and I had to watch their every move to prevent another disaster. The painter refused to protect the bed slats he had to walk on. Predictably, he left shoe marks. So he put a coat of paint over them, which actually sealed the shoe marks instead of hiding them: he thought it perfectly normal for the slats to be decorated with shoe prints. The electrician who came to replace the roller shutter, which had stopped working after two months (because they had knowingly installed one that was 2 cm too small, thinking it would fit), wanted to remove the evidence that he was responsible for the broken tiles and finished removing them by dropping the debris into my bathtub, which he then walked on. He obviously hadn't protected the bathtub. Similarly, he added scratches and large dents to the parquet floor while working. In any case, since they sanded my floor, it's fragile and very easily damaged (it wasn't like that before). The workers threw out my bathroom blind (they thought that since they'd installed a shutter, they could throw it away). The boss bought a replacement blind in the wrong size, claiming the right size didn't exist: I had to buy the correct size myself. The floor under my bed needed replacing due to water damage. The boss claimed he couldn't find the right material to avoid doing anything. Worse, the flexible cork underlay had been cut away, exposing the concrete. The plumber had poured liters of water on another section of the floor where there was rubble and paint: I paid for the repair of a floor that was even more damaged than before. The most appalling thing was the constant denial. I pointed out a problem, and they told me it had always been like that... As if I were lying or didn't know my own apartment. A real nightmare. And it's a rather expensive company. I thought paying a fair price would guarantee good service. Not at all. Seeing the disasters piling up, I offered to pay more to ensure the job was done properly. But it's no use: these workers—and I saw many, as they kept sending new ones to fix the messes of the first—don't think, and every move is an opportunity to further damage the environment they're working in. And the boss offers paltry compensation to soften the blow of the enormous and irreversible damage. Of course, I've only given a few examples of all the problems I now see daily in my apartment, problems that remind me of this traumatic experience. Someone else wrote what I think: I would have preferred to do nothing and leave it as it was, with the traces of water damage and the usual scratches on my parquet floor. My apartment was in better condition than it is today, even though I paid a very large sum to this company that doesn't seem to know what a job well done is.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS… A complete rip-off!!!! So, getting it repaired is no problem! However, the repair itself is completely useless… they immediately tell you that your equipment is low-end and blah blah blah to protect themselves before the repair is even done… and despite an exorbitant initial quote (and I mean exorbitant), they don't hesitate to add a second quote as soon as the repair takes a little longer than expected (a well-rehearsed technique: the technician calls his boss, hands you his phone, and there you have it, you can't say no or no repair!!!!! Honest, right?!?)… In short, it's disheartening to be ripped off like this, but at least it will be the last time for us…. Avoid them, even in an emergency…
I used this company for the renovation of three apartments, and I will use them again if needed. Their quotes are clear and easy to understand, and they respect the deadlines, which is a significant advantage in the construction industry. The finishes and materials are of high quality. The weekly site meetings allow us to finalize everything for the coming week with complete peace of mind. Thank you again for your support during this project, which can sometimes be a stressful time . With Bâti France, I know everything will go smoothly.
This company was extremely disappointing, both in terms of the service provided and customer relations (the telephone reception was appalling, cold, and contemptuous). A disastrous experience. I would have preferred to do nothing and leave things as they were...
