I've been wanting to write a review of this firm for a long time… Today, an event reminded me of an experience I had with them. So here's the opportunity. In 2023, I was approached by a consultant (whose name was phonetically similar to the firm's) for a potentially interesting position. Open to opportunities, I went through the interviews, which went very well. Except that the company ultimately decided not to recruit anymore (I found out from the Director himself; as it happened, he was part of my network, but Aspen didn't know we knew each other). Do you think the consultant bothered to inform me? No. She initially ignored me completely, failing to meet the deadline she had given me. To see just how far she was willing to go with her disrespect, I followed up with her, and she assured me she'd get back to me soon. I never heard from her again. What class and what courage! Seriously, what is this? What kind of world do we live in, and who do you think you are? I don't care that the position wasn't actually filled. I was just asking for RESPECT. Do you really think you're in a position of power these days to treat candidates this way? Not having grasped the basics of recruitment is pathetic. No, you don't treat candidates (especially those, like me, who didn't ask for anything and were approached directly) like that. But know that karma always comes back around: Today, at the large company I work for, I was presented with several firms to choose from, with the aim of securing a future contract. Among them was Aspen RH. Guess who I immediately ruled out and who I ended up promoting? On the other hand, I pre-selected firms I had dealt with as a candidate and who had treated me with the utmost respect. One of them has a big contract waiting for him, and deservedly so; he proved himself through his politeness, kindness, and professionalism. All qualities Aspen RH clearly lacks. In short, rethink your approach and, above all, learn your job. I know that recruitment is a "catch-all" field and that it attracts many incompetent people who saw an opportunity and got in because they lacked the skills to do anything else, but politeness isn't dependent on intellectual capacity. It's within everyone's reach. Bonus: when I see that you have a "Our Values" section on your cheap and poorly designed website, I chuckle quietly… The future looks bleak for incompetents like you.
