The staff at this metro station do not speak English. Even though we had already purchased our tickets, there was a problem at the turnstiles. When we tried to explain the issue, the staff kept responding to us only in French and did not make an effort to communicate in English. This made the situation confusing and stressful for us as tourists. Better communication and basic English support would greatly improve the experience for international travelers.
My Experience: This photo was taken at Line 2, direction Nation. That morning, there was a serious delay because of a strike (grève). Usually, trains come every 3–5 minutes, but that day it took more than 20 minutes. It was difficult for passengers, especially during rush hour. However, the information board was clear and helpful. About Line 2 (Paris Métro) – Nation Station: Nation station is one of the main terminals of Paris Métro Line 2, which runs in a semi-circle across northern Paris. The line connects Porte Dauphine in the west to Nation in the east. Main connections along the route include: Charles de Gaulle – Étoile (connection to Line 1 and RER A) Barbès – Rochechouart (connection to Line 4) La Chapelle (near Gare du Nord and RER B/D) Belleville (connection to Line 11) Père Lachaise (connection to Line 3) Nation (connections to Lines 1, 6, 9, and RER A) Summary: Line 2 passes through important neighborhoods like Monceau, Pigalle, Belleville, and Ménilmontant, making it a scenic and convenient route across northern Paris.
Beautiful located big square with a giant statue in the middle. Good place to enter one of the many metro lines they have in Paris.
Had to not pay because the ticket machines weren't working and there were no workers present, after multiple screams and doing actions in front of the cameras. so I didn't pay and got away for free. Nation do better.
Really dirty, lots of homeless people - like a small camp. The smell is pungent, reminds me of the mission in SF. One guy hitting the vending machine in anger. It feels a bit dystopian.
