We love wine travel but have learned that prioritizing quality means that we have to select our visits carefully. So after hours of research and cross-referencing wine reviews, we reserved at Domaine Marcel Deiss. What a fantastic experience! Eric is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. Spoiler alert, ask him who he is named after. His approach to tasting is as unique as the Domaine's approach to field-blending. They really are all about the terroir. The wines were just outstanding. We shipped some back to the US and bought some to drink during the remainder of our stay. Thank you Eric for sharing your expertise!

We arrived around 5pm with no booking and were welcomed to join a tasting. I believe our server was called Clement and he was so helpful and friendly! I think the full price of a tasting is 50 euros which is then taken off any purchases. As we arrived late they were happy to accommodate us with a shortened and cheaper tasting of 35 euros. We then bought a few bottles so the tasting was essentially free. We were also able to select certain wines for our tasting. Highly recommend a visit. Maybe book to be sure there is space. We took the bus from Colmar which was handy. It stops very near Marcel Deiss.

Fantastic experience! Unique wines and great hospitality by our host Eric. If you have to visit one winery in Alsace, choose for this one. Mind blowing blends, not a single one we disliked, hence a difficult choice to make afterwards. 6 stars out of 5

A great cellar and wine tasting find. Eric our host was very knowledgable and explained the nuances of each wine in detail including the terroir, aspect, vine management etc, answering all of our questions. The tasting of 5-6 wine blends was a fantastic experience, all of them so unique!
